"I have a 1976 1150ELPT. The problem I'm having is with the control lever. When I push the lever over into forward gear it's just as its supposed to be. But then, I have to move the lever almost all the way to the bottom of its travel to increase the speed. Once I'm there it seems to be OK, i.e., I can attain full throttle. Anyone know why I might have such a huge gap of dead space in there? There is no cable movement on the engine end inside that dead space. Thanks, Jim"
