"Would like to know if anyone

"Would like to know if anyone would know the part number for the seal between engine / out drive at the transom, also need related part number in order to replace the intermediate bearing. At this time water apears to be entering into the bilge and feel it is coming in though the bell housing and washing the grease off of the bearing. Also would like to know if this requires pulling the motor or if it is possible to unbolt the bolts at the transom and move engine foward a bit to perform repair. I replaced the bellows and U-joints and few months ago and do not feel there is a tear in the new bellow."

"If you are getting water thro

"If you are getting water through the bellhousing, the likely problems are either a tear in the bellows or the clamps are loose. And if water (especially salt water) has reached the bearing, you need to pull the engine and replace the bearing and seals in the bellhousing. However, you dont have to remove the engine from the boat to remove the bellhousing, but you have to remove it from the mounts (if installed) and engine well.

The other possible source of water ingress is a loose transom shield which would not allow the transom shield gasket to seal. Before dismantling anything, see if you can tighten the 6 transom shield bolts; and if you can tighten them, see if the water leak disappears afterwards. Also, if you can tighten the bolts, watch for rot in the transom as the possible cause of the bolts being loose.

An do not forget that the water could also be entering the boat via e aleak somewhere in the raw water suction line."

"Thanks for the help will pull

"Thanks for the help will pull outdrive and perform futher inspection on the bellows / clamps. Will also verify tightness on the transom shield bolts. As for the water ingress it was fresh water, hopefully can re-grease intermidiate bearing.

Thanks."
