I was having lunch with a gro

I was having lunch with a group of friends and we started to talk about boats.

I told them that I put mid- grade gas in my 1998 Evinerude 70 Hp outboard motor.

They went through the roof saying this was a big waste of money.They said I should use regular gas.

The owner before me used high test gas. Using mid grade I really dont have any problems starting it up. How say you on this topic.

JD - I like to use 89, makes me feel good, have heard the 93 octane has lots of additives - bad news.. Some outboards actually require 89 to prevent pinging.
