I started my outboard up yeste

I started my outboard up yesterday and there was a good stream of water comming out of the water pump hole. My question is the three holes about a foot below the engine cover handle lock on the back of the outboard. Is water suppose to be comming out of these three holes? Or just exhaust. Thanks in advance
 
"You are going to get a little

"You are going to get a little of both - plus occassionally some "gunk". Most of the water is going to exit the "tell-tale", the rest is going to go into the exhaust housing.

It, along with exhaust and any (gunk - unburned oil etc) that has collected in the exhaust housing is going to come out of these holes you mention.

If you check inside of your prop sometime (the thru-hub exhaust part) you will find a similar "mess" that has washed down the leg..."
