" Planning this winter's maintenance/upgrade activities on my 1965 Chris Craft 431-H. I'd like to replace the existing plug wires (not original, but in tough shape, nonetheless).

Will normal automotive wires work, or is there something special about "marine" wires that would be worth the extra money?

Marine grade ignition parts use brass and stainless in place of aluminium. Better grade automotive wires do also. My experience with engines leads me to go for top quality on this item. Good wires promote good performance and last a long time. I routinely replace the distributor cap and rotor evey year for instance where I may keep wires for many years unless I suspect trouble with them. I also started making my own wires from high performance racing kits to ensure top quality. Get the best availible.
