1998 Force Engine Steering is frozen

I recently purchased a 1998 19

I recently purchased a 1998 19 foot Throphy Center Console with a 1998 force 120 HP outboard. I'm working some of the bugs out before putting it in the water. I guess the boat sat awhile and the steering is frozen or stuck. Can anyone tell me the best way to free the steering. Thanks

I have just been through the same problem with my 35hp.I tried everything but in the end I had to strip it down.There was rust on the shaft preventing any penetrating fluid or grease from doing its job.I stripped a couple of bolts as I expected and had to drill them out and retap threads.The end result is well worth it.I also fitted a top grease nipple which Chrysler did not.Good luck.Keith"
