I have a 200 Venom with the CE

I have a 200 Venom with the CE designation in the model # to signify Canada Derated. Exactly what does this mean? The engine was detuned from the factory? The engine puts out more than 200hp?

"The answer to your question is yes and no. Carburation is one of the single biggest factors in producing horse power. Most outboard motors have more than one "jet size" option depending on the altitude they will be operated at, and obviously, this will restrict/enhance horsepower depending on the perspective. So I guess you could say that your outboard was tuned down to a 200 horse, or you could look at it as being (jetted) to operate at 200 horses in the environment that it was built for..."
