I have a black max 150 short s

I have a black max 150 short shaft and I plan on buying a 175 long shaft. Can I swap out lower units on these outboards? Are these motors interchangable? And is there somewhere on the internet where I can read up on these motors? Please help...

You can view the parts manuals at the Mercury website. Then you can see if the parts are the same. The gear ratio could be different, but most of the parts in the gearcase will be identical.
