"Is there anyone that knows if it is possible to make a Bravo 3 steerdrive fit with a Detroit 6v-53. I am thinking of buying a 6V-53 350 hp that been mounted in somekinde of military installation (150 houers)is this a good engine to put in a boat?. Where can i find parts to make it a marine engine (manifolds, waterpump etc). Is this engine a 2-cycle engine ? it sound strange to me of the low rpm (2800) and that it is a turbo engine. How mutch is this engines weight. I would be very glad for all the information i can get !
Best Regards

"Yes its a 2 cycle engine. The 2800 rpm sounds high to me, you wouldn't want to operate it at higher than 2200 rpm. Yes, you should be able to find parts, to make it a marine engine. Weight? you won't know till you put on the heat exchanger and pumps, etc, but it should be around 1500 lbs. (750kg)"
