"Hello to all posties, I have just purchased a 1972 duracraft with a 65 hp ES johnson. The boat was stored for 30 yrs.
My questions are 1)What is the fuel/oil mix ratio? 2) I changed the throttle out (old one dried out and broke), would this cause poor preformance out of the hole?
Thanks for any information. Madhouse54

"The fuel/oil ratio is 50:1.

"The fuel/oil ratio is 50:1. That is one pint of TCW-3 rated Outboard oil to six gallons of 87 octane gas.

After sitting that long, you can rest assured your carburetors are gummed up. They will need to be removed and rebuilt, with new carb. kits. DO NOT spray carb cleaner in them in an attempt to clean them-while on the engine.

While you're at it, a new water pump is in order along with a fuel pump rebuild.

None of these items are expensive for the DIY'r."
