" I can olny get 3000 rpm from my engine. I have a 15.5x15 prop. carb, timing, compresson, all checks out. all this was checked out by a marine service. they tell me I should get up to 4600 rpm. they are as stumped as iam. HELP!!!!!!! "

"Simple stuff first.....are the prop, shaft or rudder fouled? (line, fishing net or other such stuff wrapped around the running gear)

If not, then are there any funny noises, smoke or rough running when you get to 3000 rpm? The secondaries in the carb may not be opening, but that's just a shot in the dark.

My 1987 did the same I ran the motor slowly &
removed one spark plug at a time two removed
showed no impact result blown head gasket
