"I'm stuck! This motor ran great until I took it to a suggested shop and had the thermostats replaced, fuel filter replaced and asked them to check my gear/throttle adjustments I had done. We bought this motor a couple months ago from Talahassee and I was concerned about the t-stat condition. So when we got it back, it would not run at idle. It starts, 2 to 10 seconds running at about 600rpm and cuts off. If I catch it running it will fast idle ok but seems rougher than before. I have replaced the plugs w/ NGK IR 1ZFR5G's - as found as original and they came set at .030" so I set them to .040" as the manual indicated. I rebuilt the lift pump. Put in a new elect. pump and replaced the fuel filter b/c the shop used a slightly different part number than Parts Express called for.
Still won't idle. Got any suggestions before I take it to another shop?"
