how do i know if mine is ok?

how do i know if mine is ok? i have it out..when inspecting it what do i look for?

no it fealt fine when it was running....it looks pretty good...no melting...no dust....what if the rubber inside have a few tiny little cracks? is that ok?

"The few tiny cracks should not hurt the couplers integrity. You also want to check the splines for wear. Look for the splines to be worn to a sharp point if worn. If they have a slight taper and are flat on top they are ok. Couplers are so cheap I replace them anytime the motor is out. The slight cost is well worth the time, money and aggravation of having to do the job all over again a few months later.

How much usage has the current coupler seen? Years? Hours?"

im not sure how many years it has on it...the splines look fine

cheap? over $200 for that coupler
 
I paid a hundred bucks on ebay

I paid a hundred bucks on ebay for a new after market deal. 3 hours on it so far. Got my fingers crossed....
