88 GM350 Swap with 79 GM350

" Can Any one help?I have 1988 GM350 with a OMC cobra drive eng.is going bad I have a chance to buy a rebuilt 79 GM350. Will the 79 swap over with no problems.Any help would be appreciated.

Bellhousing should be the sam

Bellhousing should be the same ALong with the mounts & everything. The only thing I know is different is the oil dip stick is on the opposite side of the engine

I dont know how much of the engine youve purchased, but I can tell you that the oil pan, flywheel, coupler and intake manifold is different.
