" I have a 305 chevy inbard with a 4 barrel carb. on a 22' open center console. The engine runs and starts perfectly - - but--when it is fully warmed up and slowly trolling for an hour or so it sputters and stalls. Will not start until it cools off. Sounds like vapor lock but the copper fuel tbe running across the engine to the carb is at best warm to touch when it stalls. Fuel tank is new, pump is new, line is new, and filters are clean. Could it be starving for more air flow? The only air flow into this very tight compartment is from two forward scoops/4 inch hose leading into the compartment. There are no air vents or scoops on the center console itself..Any thoughts? "

Possibly a bad coil or ingnit

Possibly a bad coil or ingniton module. But to rule out lack of air is there any way to vent the engine compartment by leaving a hatch open to see if more air helps it start quicker. After trolling for a while what is engine temp guage read?? Kim
