" Wish I had every spec on this engine for you (a friends setup), it's about a 2001 vintage, with the volvo penta duo prop setup.

The fuel pump is making a little noise. No performance issues have been noted, it's just best describe as a whine of some nature. Is this normal after the engine gets a bit of use? At what point should it be a concern?

Originally the part was going to be replaced. It's the high pressure pump, come to find out you can only buy it as a complete "fuel cell" for $600 - pretty steep to replace on a whim after a little noise.

The pump can be removed, and am currently looking to find one from someplace that sells this stuff seperatly. The assembly appears to be made by "Carter", the numbers on the pump are 2830511 and then it's either an "8" or "B". Are there other options for getting the pump seperatly that anyone knows about?
