i have a 1973 Evenrude 85hp o

i have a 1973 Evenrude 85hp outboard motor model number 85393 i'm wonting to get power trim and tilt for it i found a 1978 power trim and tilt on auction but dont know it it will fit pic of mount look the same as the mount i have. need help.

p.s. dont know much about tilt and trim

Aaron... Sorry to say that the 1978 PTT will not fit the 1973 engines.

" You might consider an aftermarket CMC Power T/T unit. I think I've seen them in Bass Pro Shops for about $450 with a guage. However, I would think setting your motor back that far, I'd make sure the transom is VERY strong before installing something like this.

I have had the CMC power tilt

I have had the CMC power tilt installed on my 18' Starcraft boat with a 72 Johnson 125 v4 for 6 years with no problems
