Water flow problem

we just changed water pump an

we just changed water pump and are having low water flow to motor on a 1985 johnson 90. could there be blockage somewhere?

" Did you make sure the water tube was lined up with the impeller housing outlet when you re-installed the leg? Another possibility is the rubber grommet on the end of the water tube might be squished and partially blocking the tube. The last possibility is if the engine is used in salt water, there might be a salt build up in the cooling system, I find by running the engine in a fresh water test tank and blowing compressed air through the water line from the tell tale end, usually works. Is there a grommet on the end

Is there a grommet on the end of the water tube or are you talking about the grommet between the tube guide and pump housing. I have not seen aney grommet on the water tube itself
