it seems while I am hard on t

it seems while I am hard on the throttle from start to 4500 rpm's i have this knocking noise that seems to come from the lower unit?
when it is in neutral and I rev. it up .... no noise...
but while under load a 100 rpm knocking noise?

If my prop has a 1/4 inch back and forth play
could that be the problem?

"Darren..... There's a strong possibility that you have a chipped or broken tooth on one or more gears in that lower unit.

Remove the bottom drain plug to check for metal particles, chips, splinter like pieces.
