" I have a 1981 35hp Johnson outboard. My problem is I have no spark on the lower cylinder. I have replace the head mounted coil,and still nothing. The only thing I can think of is maybe the stator,rectifier, or power pack. I am mechanically inclined but dont know outboards very well so any help would be greatly appreciated. " Darrell.... Remove the s/plugs. There are two sensor wires leading from the timerbase to the powerpack. Temporarily switch those two wires at the powerpack connection. Check the spark.

If the missing cylinder stays the same, the powerpack is faulty.

If the missing cylinder changes to the other cylinder, the timer base sensor is faulty.
