"The motor turns over fine but

"The motor turns over fine but wouldn't start. We checked for spark and found the only 2 cylinders produced sparks, one cylinder on each side of the motor. Tried replacing the plugs and wires, nothing.

Can anyone point me in the right direction on where in the problem might by???? It would be eisier to diagnose if I had no spark at all, what would cause just some cylinders to spark.

"Spark must be checked with the s/plugs removed. Spark must jump a 7/16" gap and engine must be cranking at least 300 rpm.

If no spark, disconnect RED electrical plug at engine, then crank engine engine by jumping the starter solenoid. If spark exist now, suspect a shorted ignition switch.

If still no spark, inspect stator under flywheexl. If stator is cracked and/or ozzing a sticky substance down on the timer base and powerhead, replace the stator."

"Try and get a factory manual. Could be stator,timer base, power pack, loose magnets on the flywheel--most anything. Factory manual will tell you how to check all of those systems."
