I am trying to replace oil sea

I am trying to replace oil seals on prop shaft of a merc 150 hp. I can't get thr cover nut to budge. Any tricks to accomplish this? I know they make a special tool for this but before i have to buy one I just thought there might be another way.

"It's less expensive to cut the nut out with a die grinder and buy a new one,BUT, you need the tool to torque the new one back down. Maybe if your friendly with the local marina they'll rent it to you."
 
If i'ts a merc ive already

If i'ts a merc ive already replced the seals with out removing the carrier.just pull out the seals with a hook then useing a plastic pipe tap the new ones in.

I used a pick set that i bought at a auto parts store.
