Fuel in engine oil reservoir

1991 OMC Cobra 5.0 185hp...La

1991 OMC Cobra 5.0 185hp...Last oil change I noticed fuel in my engine oil reservoir. Any help...I must be running to rich?? What would be a proper setting for my holley carb? Standard temp at 700 feet about sea level? Thanks for your help!!! Ryan

" Ryan, you have got a very dangerous situation, fuel in the sump can ignite, DON'T USE IT (sorry for shouting)until it is fixed. If you have a mechanical fuel pump (on side of engine) it could be faulty allowing fuel into sump. If you havn't got mechanical fuel pump then carburettor is the culprit, have it checked by pros. Running to rich will not allow fuel into sump (it would be using so much fuel the engine would not run). I have seen this problem in cars caused by mechanical fuel pumps with torn diaphram and faulty seal. "
