" I have a 58 Evinrude 18 hp with no spark.Is there a simple test to check a coil and condenors or should i just change them, also it says to use sae 30 or outboard oil .Is one better than the other? Thanks for your help! "
 
The info sheet on the inside

The info sheet on the inside of shell said 24-1 but an marine mechanic told me to go to32-1with super gas would be better because the new marine oils are alot better than 40 yrs.ago .what do you think?
 
24:1 as per the instructions

24:1 as per the instructions is the way to go.Some of the old motors are still around because at 24:1 they are difficult to wear out.
