"I have a newer, front shift 25hp evinrude and I am having difficulties droping the lower unit. On my older model I know of the shift linkage release at mid housing. What is the secret on this newer one? thanks to all-Mark"
 
"Take down the waterscreens an

"Take down the waterscreens and split the shiftrod. Then take off the small plastic keeper on the upper rod (push up the nut), and the case will drop down. Replace the keeper when reassembling."
