" The manual I have says there should be 4 bolts holding the Valve Tappet Cover in place. Mine has only 2 (and there does not appear to be any place for 2 others). It also has a copper tube the comes out and makes a 90 degree turn, but does not appear to connect to anything. Anyone out there have the same configuration? What's the purpose of this copper tube?

Thanks,

" There's four bolts on mi

" There's four bolts on mine, and the copper tube is part of the crankcase breather system. A rubber hose should lead from the copper tube to a tube soldered over the flame arrestor on the carburetor air intake. The idea is any blowby is sucked into the carburetor and burned in the cylinders.

BTW it's a Coast Guard requirement to have a flame arrestor on the carb of a marine gasoline engine. "
