" The switch inside the throttle unit that controls the hydro-electric shift broke this weekend (first time out this season). I have replaced this part before and it's rather expensive ($100) and hard to find. I was wondering if anyone has tried to replace this switch with a dashboard mounted switch-- maybe a three-way toggle switch, so that the shift could be engaged manually separate from the throttle control. If so do you have any information on how to do the wiring? There are five wires on the original switch (2 white, blue, green, and purple).

Any help or comments would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tim "
