"Can anyone help me diagnose this problem?

I was running last Saturday and noticed my trim button on the trottle didn't work. My jack plate height indicator and fuel gauges were not working either. The motor wouldn't turn off either. I had to pull the fuel line and let the engine run out of fuel to stop it. Now it won't start either.

All other gauges and electrical components, such as bilge pump, worked and still do. It appears the two gauges not working are connected to the ignition switch.

I guess there's a electrical connection that is causing the problem; either a power or ground wire is not connected.

Any thoughts on where to start checking?

Thanks in advance for your help."

"Thanks JB and Scott,

After getting JB's post, I pulled the cowl and saw the engine connector was unplugged.

It's kind of funny how the connector could just come unplugged. It is held in place by two friction clips. Maybe the tech that just did my annual service didn't put it back in place properly?

Anyway, that was the problem and everything is working now."
