1983 Mariner 80 hp carb linkage

I am in the process of rebuil

I am in the process of rebuilding the carbs on my 1983 Mariner 80 hp 4 cyl. How do I know that the linkage between the carbs is in time?

Sam....With the carbs on the engine when you look into the carbs both butterflies should be in the exact position that is they should both be closed and when you move the throttle linkage both butterflies should start to open at the same time.
