"I just recently purchased the boat and the motor is very clean and has ran fine the first several times out. I checked compression upon purchase and all cylinders were very near 130. Last time I had it out it started to make a rattle sound under load going across the lake, I have no idea what the likely causes could be or where to begin, any help or suggestions on where to start is appreciated. I am afraid it might be the bottom end of the engine, but hopefully it is something simple. thanks engine runs great otherwise."

"A A friend of mine had a similar problem on the same motor. Was as simple as a loose bolt had fallen out of its place, I found it lying at base of engine when I removed cowling. Hope yours is as easy to fix."
