Mariner 50hp 2003 no warning system

I am new to the boating circle

I am new to the boating circles. I have two 50's on my boat. I have been learning from them already. Both engines and controls have no warning sounds and the rev counters do not operate. I am looking for some advice to start looking for the problem behind this. It might be that the previous guy just deactivated it or that the whole system is incorrectly wired. Where can I start?
