"I am looking to purchase a 93 or 94 100 hp Merc., does any have any opinions about this motor (ie. any known issues typical to this motor). Also what compression should I see when I test it?

it is a 2+4 wich means it

it is a 2+4 wich means it idles and upto 2500 rpm on two cylinders then whiplash the other two kick in. compression should be even within 10 psi of each other

I understand what you are saying about being within 10 psi of each other, but do you know what should be the minimum (ie. 110psi)? example, if they all test within 10 psi of each other but they are all under 90 psi, is that acceptable; or does that mean it needs a rebuild?

Also, from looking at your profile, it looks like you might have an opinion about this: Do these 100 Hp Mercs have a good reputation overall or ???
