"I have a 1998 Mercury 60 HP ELPTO. When I turn the key to the on position, the testing tone will not go off (continous beeeeeeep). According to the repair manual, this is overheat warning (i know its not overheating because the engine has not even started). I disconnected the temp sensor, but the continous beeeeep still occurs when I turn the key to the on position. Any ideas??? Is there a way to test the "Test Circuit" on the warning system."
