I have a 5.0 mercruiser i/o engine. I use it mainly in salt water and would like to have a method to flush the salt water when I am finished boating for the day. does anyone know the best kit or procedure to flush the risers and manifold to remove the salt residue? my marina told me that the only way to flush your engine would be to jump in the lagoon and attach the outdrive ears to the outdrive and connect a hose with a freshwater source . this will work but it sometimes becomes a real hassle jumping in lagoon to attach the ears for the outdrive .does anyone have any alternatives that will do the job?
