"Hi. This is such a basic question it's embarassing, but I am totally new to outboards. I've just bought a 9.9hp 2-stroke Mariner (circa 1986) off e-Bay. The trouble is I can't find out how to release the pivot which allows the engine to swivel side to side (i.e. to steer with the tiller). The engine won't rotate relative to the transom clamp unit. There must be a release lever somewhere but I certainly can't find it.
Please help.
