"Looking for a 90 Degree therm

"Looking for a 90 Degree thermostat for any motor. to be used for non motor purpose, It seems older outboards have lower temp thermostats. 100 deg. would work also. Thanks for any help you can give me."

"Good luck! Here's something you can try:

Take an ordinary t-stat with an expoed spring on the outside and grind a flat on the spring wire, all the way around. (I've done that with dirt bike and car springs to soften them.)

Here's how t-stats work: The wax pellet inside pushes against the spring to open the valve. So, if you weaken the spring, it will open at a lower temperature. You might have to grind quite a bit to lowert the opening temperature from the usual 180-200 degrees.
