Hi all,
I have 1983 Mercury 9.8 model 110 that runs and idles welll. Occasionally it will drop a cylinder and run on one. The other cylinder will randomly start firing again for awhile then quit again and so on. New spark plugs so I'm fairly sure thats not the issue.
Any thoughts where I should start? I'm thinking of replacing ignition coils and wires. Could it also be the stator or cdi? Which is more likely/common?
