2002 5.0 GXI knocking hard, can I is a AQ231A block?

2002 5.0 GXI knocking hard, I found a good deal on a AQ231A , can I break this down and the long block as a replacement in the GXI?
 
For it to work the older engine would have to have the same one piece rear main seal design as the newer one that you are replacing. Or else the coupler from the 2002 may not fit. Flywheels are different I think. The design changed in 1986 if I remember right.
