Stinger 75 vs Johnson 70

I just picked up a 1978 Johnson 70 and I'm trying to determine what is the physical difference, other than cosmetic, between this motor and the 75hp Stinger of the same year. I looked at the 1978 Johnson brochure on liquid nirvana and every column of the specs are the same, except for the operating range. Stinger states 75hp at 5500 rpms(5200-5800 op range) and the 70 shows 70hp at 5000 rpms(4500-5500). Can someone tell me what makes the ratings different? Or is it just creative marketing? Thanks.

My motor is 70873c

The cowling on this outboard was painted flat black(UGGH). Is 0771249 the proper part # for the goldish paint on the upper part of the cowling?
