No spark on any cylinder

Hi folks. I have a Honda BF40 on a work pontoon that used to run very good. ... three years ago. When I just tried to start it, it wouldn't start and gas flooded out of the carbs. Assuming it was shellac from old gas, I cleaned the carbs. After putting it back together, there is no spark from any of the three spark plugs. Not being too familiar with outboards, where do I start to look for the missing spark? Any tricks or tips would be very helpful as I'm getting ready to sell it (to move away from the water .. yuk).

Thanks Alan. So obvious. I was getting ready for a major troubleshoot and didn't think about the obvious. I looked and something (me) did in fact knock the lanyard out and I hadn't thought to check it. Haven't tried it yet, but I'm pretty sure that was the problem. Best to ya.
