'84 force 50hp Gap between prop and nut?

Is there supposed to be enough gap between prop and prop nut so the prop can move in and out a bit on the shaft, or is it supposed to be tight?
Mine is able to slide a little back and forth on the shaft with the nut tight enough for the cotter pin. I thought of filling in the gap with washers if it is necessary to make it tighter.

The 84/50 has a shearpin#12 that holds the prop in place on the shaft, see the pic below.

Thanks Jerryjerry05,
You helped me before about my prop. I have bought a new one to replace the spun prop. I also bought a couple Prop Nut kits and some shear pins.
It all works fine. Thing is I noticed there is a TINY amount of play where the prop can slide back and forth . Probably not enough to get it wobbling but I thought it would be worth inquiring about. Looking at info about prop design and all, having that tiny amount of play doesn't jive in my mind on a 5000rpm shaft. I guess if it ain't broke don't fix it.
