1978 Chrysler 160hp Outboard info/impeller repl.

Hi Gang

I’m a frequent contributor/beneficiary on the Crusader, Volvo and Merc. sites. I could use some help.

A friend just purchased a boat with a 1978 Chrysler 160 hp outboard and would like for me to repl. the impeller.

I’m not afraid of this task but I can’t seem to find any info on this motor.

If it does in fact exist, can someone give me the lowdown on it and perhaps some tips on the impeller replacement.

There was a 140 HP marketed.-------Unless he has a rare racing " stacker " model.----Any pictures ?---Model #.
 
1972/4 they made a 150
Never heard about a 160 but I don't really get much call for anything that old.
Like racerone said: pics, ID tag,

Force made a 150 for a few years, they just added a 5th cylinder on top of the 120-125

These are the part #s for the oldest biggest impeller for the older 140, might work might not.
