merc cruiser 5.0 wont turn over

All, I have a amazing like new 5.0, the battery went dead at the dock so I charged it and brought it home, I got busy and let it sit for a couple of months. charged the baterys and now it will not start, just clicks. will not turn over. Batterys have 12.89 volts on both. please any advise would be great.

Ayuh,.... Pull the drive, to see whether it's the motor or the drive,.....
If it's the motor, pull the spark plugs, 'n try it,....
Pull the starter, 'n bench test it,....
