Hello everyone,
My 1982 Suzuki DT-20 2 stroke is having water pump issues that I'm having no luck in trouble shooting.
When I remove the shift lever access cover, where you would disconnect the shift linkage, the water pumps great. When I install the cover plate though, for normal operation, the water stops flowing.

I've removed the lower unit to inspect impeller, which looks great. I've flushed fresh water up and down the water inlet and outlet. As you can see in the video, the pump works great and throws lots of water out the back.
I've also tested the motor in the lake with a boat. Same result.
Any ideas?
