Beware of Chinese fuel pumps

How bout this? The guy traded in his motor to me, he couldn't get it running even with his new fuel pump. I looked it over finally after 2 years. The hole wasn't drilled all the way through for the outlet tube. Now THATS quality control, eh?

Interesting. My wife and son are part Chinese, I'd better be careful. So it's probably made in Minnesota.

I like the small Chinese pumps. I buy like 10 of them at a time and rebuild them with BRP rebuild kits. A $100 pump for $30 it is the gaskets that are garbage the housings seem OK so far.

Did not know the small pumps gaskets/diaphragms will interchange as on the larger pumps the OEM kits will not fit.

That's good to know. Another question. Will the little square pumps supply enough fuel for the "Big Twins"? Probably, eh? Why? The inlet to carb is only 3/16". I'm putting the 3/8" on this one, however. Converting to suction tank 'cause Mr. Scott said pressure tanks blow up....ha! Only kidding. Reason I'm converting is the guy wants a fuel gauge on the dashboard, and there's much more room to mount the sending unit on a suction type tank.
Ahh! CHINA....BEAUTIFUL.

Beware of spark that checks out okay too. If someone has changed the coils, then you had BETTER take it apart. Beware of these hard plastic coils, they like to crack....then later arc through. These are OMC too. Can't trust 'em.
Notice flattened kill wire....??? This repair done by a licensed dealer.
