Engine has performed great for years until recently. Became hard to start. I installed carb and fuel pump kits which I have done before. First time on water ran pretty good except hesitation when accelerating. Second time on water ran several miles up and down Tennessee river with no problem then experienced the loss of power. Went from 28 MPH to 7 MPH. I was couple miles down river so had to try to make it back. Ran for ten minutes or so on full throttle but what seemed half rpm then engine died. Got it to start with warm up throttle but when putting in gear would die. Made it the last 1/2 mile on trolling motor. Any thoughts? I will check compression tonight and go from there.
