30 hp 2 stroke not starting.

Yesterday no problems starting 7 - 8 times. Today no problem about 4 times, then nothing. No clicking from the solenoid, electric choke working ok. When try starting Gps and fishfinder turn off. Engine will start on pull cord. Later ashore try again, choke not working either now. Battery reading 12.5V.
Starter motor was serviced couple of weeks ago and worked fine since - until today.
Seems obvious it's an electrical problem, would appreciate suggestions of most likely areas to check first to save time.

Sorting through issues like this is a process of elimination. Get yourself a 12V bulb tester and they are only $15.

1. check for power at the starter when trying to start, signal smaller wire. if no work backwards to the the in and out of ignition switch.
2. the ideal is to work from starter to ignition and see where you have power and where you don't. Obviously check all fuses.
3. If power at the starter then the starter is bad, but also make sure good positive connection at starter
4. IF you have power at starter with ignition switch trying to start you should also verify there is a good ground.
