Tiller kill switch destroyed???

my tether kill switch at the end of the tiller for destroyed and does not work anymore. Is there a quick fix for this???
the new kill switch from here is $150.00. I was thinking of buying a basic kill switch on Amazon and cut the old one off and just splice the new one on and mount it somewhere where it’s easy accessible?

Any thoughts or ideas?

Is the actual sealed unit o the switch bad (test wth multimeter), or is it just the red “stop” button on the end that is broken.
I had an 8HP with a broken switch, & didn’t want to pony up the $130 + tax for a new one.
I got a used one from Racerone, but after looking closely found out it was only the red button broken.
Here is a thread showing how I changed only the red stop button.
