2000 5.0 merc

I have a 2000 210 Searay with 5.0 engine. After running awhile (30 minutes) and slow to wake speed for 5 or 10 minutes it will die and I have to remove the fuel filter and fill it with fuel to start again. The gas will be down 1 0r 2 inches. Does anyone have any thoughts on where this air is coming from. Everything looks good as far as the fuel lines.
 
My fav quick debug.... remove gas cap.. vent line may be blocked or collapsed... or degraded since its a pre ethanol boat with a likely original vent line ( if not fuel line! ).
