Need help Identifying Mercury Model Number...

Hello All,
I recently purchased a 2001 Mako with a 2001 Mercury 150 2-stroke. The previous owner(s) repainted the engine cowling and the identification placard was painted over and is illegible. The best I can get is that it is a 2001 DFI 150 HP 2-Stroke. I have attached pics, hope they help. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Can you get the number off of the freeze plug on the block of the engine? That number is usually the serial number which will help identify and get you a parts lists.
